1) Let the staff come in on our own time to allow us to get our classrooms started/set up. (Btw, we were told we could, but, was not followed through)
2) get all the new staff onto school email ... I didn't get a single email from my building until 3 days after classes started.
3) be ON TOP of all new students being registered (Kindergarten AND up). Don't keep hand writing names on the existing list...then forgetting to add them officially to the list.
4) recognize that 37 students on a Kindergarten classroom list is INSANE!!
5) Know that if there are 37 students are listed, that only a few won't show up, and one human being cannot handle 33 five year olds WITHOUT help!
6) DO NOT HAVE A FIRE DRILL ON THE FIRST DAY WITH 33 FOUR/FIVE/SIX YEAR OLDS!!!!
7) Make sure the teacher computers work, and do not, after making them work, do not make them stop accepting already working passwords.
8) don't offer Saturday hours for teachers and NOT be there.
9) as a principal...please show up to meet your new Kindergartners...don't send someone else to do your job.
10) Get another teacher ASAP to make a classroom more manageable.
I feel like these things are QUITE manageable. As you can probably tell, these are just a few things that happened to me this past week. I am going through major panic/anxiety attacks. I am not sure if I can take this insanity that is my new building. Prayers please!
